DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties and responsibilities:

·Patrolling and guarding of all Hotel areas.

·Guarding of all access control points.

·Monitoring designated areas via CCTV surveillance camera system.

·Maintain daily inspections of the CCTV surveillance camera system.

·Ensure accurate and detailed documentation of daily fault reports of the CCTV surveillance system and reported to the Engineering Department and/or maintenance contractor to maintain 24-hour operational functionality.

·Maintain confidentiality of recorded CCTV subjects, images and material by only allowing authorized personnel accessing the CCTV Control Room as per local law requirement.

·Ensure that fire exit doors are kept free from obstruction at all times.

·Ensure that fire and safety equipment are in their designated place.

·Ensure that doors, windows and gates of all areas not in use are locked and secured.

·Ensure appropriate key control and handling procedures by means of key register and physical key escort to the required location or any other means in compliance with Hotel Key Policy.

·Ensure appropriate money handling procedures by means of physical escort to the required location are in compliance with Finance Policy.

·Ensure prompt response to all emergency activations such as fire indications, report of safety hazardous incidents and maintenance demands on the property.

·Controls the Time Office by:

-Helping hotel colleagues logging in and out.

-Maintaining a register for contractors, suppliers and visitors by means of obtaining a valid identification card and issuing the appropriate access permit for contractors, suppliers or visitors to them.

-Monitoring colleagues taking out Hotel property and ensuring that such items are accompanied by gate pass.

-Validate all gate passes for hotel property by ensuring that only items mentioned on the particular gate pass are being taken out of the Hotel.

·Ensure proper control of all vehicles entering onto the premises by submitting the required details onto applicable vehicle register.

·Perform all tasks consistently in line with the Hotel standards.

·Treat guests and colleagues in a polite and courteous manner.

·Adhere to all legal and statutory requirements.

General responsibilities:

·

·Generally promote and ensure good inter-departmental relations.

·Display a pleasant manner and positive attitude at all times and to promote a good company image to guests and colleagues.

·Adhere to Company and Hotel rules and regulations at all times.

·Adhere to the grooming standards of the organization.

·Adhere to the dress code suitable to a Security Officer.

·Adhere to the set work times of the organization as per monthly duty roster for the department.

Occasional responsibilities:

·Report any damage to hotel property or malfunctioning of equipment to the Engineering Department.

·Be generally aware of the Health & Safety requirements of the Hotel, detect & report irregularities & follow-through of corrective actions in order to ensure a safe & secure work environment for all.

·Pass any maintenance requests to the Engineering Department.

·Participate in any training/ developmental programmes as recommended by senior management.

·Assist the Duty Manager in any task outlined/detailed by him/her.

·Comply with any reasonable request made by management to the best of your ability.

Legal responsibilities:

·Ensure that the standards required by Law & Management are maintained at all times in the areas specified above.

QUALIFICATIONS

:

DESIRABLE

·Secondary school leaving certificate (SSLC) or equivalent.

·Current Dubai Police license for Security Professionals as Officer or CCTV Controller or willingness to obtain.

·Current first aid certificate, inclusive of CPR & use of AED, from a recognized training institution.

·Current Dubai Civil Defense firefighting or fire wardens training.

·Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook) & general IT literacy.

·Familiar with Health & Safety requirements for hotel establishments, including detecting, reporting & follow-through of corrective actions to ensure a safe and secure work environment for all.

·Familiar with routine tasks & emergency response procedures for fire alarm indications, including fire & bomb threat situations.

·Familiar with incident investigations, including search procedures, collecting & securing evidence and completing incident reports.

EXPERIENCE

:

ESSENTIAL

·Working for a minimum of two years as Officer or in a similar role.

·Having a minimum of two years’ experience working in a 5-star hotel environment.

·Be customer focused with a discreet, professional appearance and passionate to uphold the customer service standards of Palazzo Versace Dubai.

·Strong verbal and written communication skills.

·Excellent inter-personal skills.

·Security experience preferably as part of an in-house team.

·Ability to remain calm in difficult situations, minimizing panic in others.

·Reliable with excellent timekeeping.

·Ability to use initiative and be adaptable.

·Self-motivated with a willing and friendly approach.

·Ability to work effectively and constructively within a team.

·Excellent general health with a good level of physical fitness.

·Willingness to undertake flexible shift hours, including nightshifts in accordance with the departmental duty roster.

·Ability to respond appropriately to alarms.

·Ability to assess a situation quickly, using appropriate actions to defuse a situation and provide effective solutions, particularly with people demonstrating disruptive behaviour.

·A good knowledge and appreciation of current security environments, the potential risks, threats & actions to mitigate these.
